Job Opportunity – Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am based on unit needs), Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. Patient ratio typically 1:1 or 1:2. Float coverage to NICU and general care may be required.

Highlights:

• Mixed unit caring for both Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU and general PICU patients in a comprehensive 21-bed state-of-the-art facility
• Diverse case mix including cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation (heart, liver, kidney), acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, multi-system organ failure, and ECMO support
• Work with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team at a Magnet-designated facility and Level One Pediatric Trauma Center
• EPIC charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
• 36-hour orientation with specialized equipment training including CRRT, VAD, and ECMO
• Opportunity for up to two pre-approved time-off periods during assignment

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience; 3 years preferred for first-time travelers
• Strong Pediatric ICU experience with at least 1 year of cardiovascular ICU or cardiac step-down experience required
• High acuity hospital experience; strong Level II Trauma experience considered
• Current AHA BLS and PALS certifications
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Must pass telemetry exam prior to start (adult and pediatric components with strict passing criteria)
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, arterial line management, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and post-cardiac surgery care
