Assistant District Attorney Prosecutorial District 7, Hancock and Washington Counties Opening Date: June 8, 2026 | Closing Date: Until Filled | Class Code: 0206 | Position Number: 006100025 | Grade: 1 Salary: $71,843.20 – $139,110.40 per year (competitive, set by the Office of the Attorney General) Overview The District Attorney’s Office in District 7 seeks a full‑time Assistant District Attorney to prosecute criminal cases in the Unified Criminal Court of Hancock County and appellate cases before the Law Court. The ADA may also handle occasional conflict cases in Washington County. Responsibilities Conduct criminal prosecutions in the Unified Criminal Court of Hancock County. Represent the state in appellate cases before the Law Court. Occasionally manage conflict cases in Washington County offices. Maintain high ethical standards, sound judgment, and discretion in all duties. Communicate effectively with witnesses, victims, and court personnel. Organize case files and manage time efficiently to meet legal deadlines. Qualifications Member of the Maine Bar in good standing. Strong desire for a career in litigation. Trial experience and developed trial skills preferred. High ethical standards, sound judgment, and discretion. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
