About the Position: Serve as the Program Manager, principal advisor to the Executive Office and senior level decision makers in the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Installations, Energy and Environment (ASA(IE&E) on technical and administrative matters relating to the accomplishment, coordination and disposition of a variety of substantive policy and program staff actions and assignments.

Duties

Help

• Provides oversight to management officials involved in the preparation of staff actions.
• Responsible for resolving issues that involve conflicting staffing or coordination requirements that may impact the overall efficiency and/or effectiveness of the agency.
• Serve as the advisor on technical or administrative matters relating to the coordination, or nature of a variety of substantive actions and/or assignments.
• Directs the work of administrative clerks by providing executive direction, assistance and support for all administrative operations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and/or recommending changes to existing administrative policies and/or procedures to improve staff operations; providing expert guidance and/or assistance in the management of long-range complex projects, and/or studies; serving as the scheduler to ensure the Executive Officer (XO) is updated on scheduled activities to include changes; and managing task and workflow management software across secure and/or unclassified platforms to coordinate, track, and quality-control organizational actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
