Mechanic I

Description This role focuses on the repair, rebuild, testing, and occasional field service of industrial pumps and rotating equipment. You'll diagnose failures, rebuild equipment to OEM specifications, perform testing, and support customer installations and repairs both in our OEM-authorized service center and at customer facilities. Learn more at tencarva.com Equipment You'll Work On Self-priming centrifugal pumps (Gorman-Rupp is our primary pump line) Vertical turbine pumps Mag-drive pumps Air-operated diaphragm (AODD) pumps Gearboxes, motors, blowers, valves, mixers/agitators, and other rotating equipment What You'll Be Responsible For Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose failures in industrial pumps and rotating equipment Perform complete tear-downs, repairs, rebuilds, and remanufacturing work to OEM specifications Replace bearings, seals, shafts, impellers, wear components, and other repair parts Perform laser alignment and other precision mechanical measurements Read and interpret mechanical drawings, parts diagrams, manuals, and OEM documentation Test, inspect, and verify equipment performance following repair completion Assist with field troubleshooting, equipment removal, installation, alignment, and startup activities Perform limited manual machining as needed to support rebuild work Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment Why Fischer / Tencarva Day shift, Monday-Friday schedule Earn up to 120 hours (3 weeks) of PTO per year, plus 10 paid holidays Profit Sharing via 401(k) One of the largest and most respected distributors and OEM-authorized service networks in the pump industry Stable, growing company with nearly 50 years of success and no history of layoffs Long-term customer relationships with consistent demand for repair services Primarily shop-based work with occasional local field service Big-company resources with a local-shop feel Family-oriented culture that respects life outside of work Realistic workloads and expectations – not a high-pressure production environment Insurance benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, and life. Requirements What We're Looking For 2+ years of hands-on industrial pump repair, rebuild, rotating equipment service, millwright, or related mechanical experience required (5+ years preferred) Ability to independently complete full tear-down and rebuild projects from inspection through final testing Experience with centrifugal pumps, vertical turbine pumps, and related rotating equipment preferred Familiarity with laser alignment and precision mechanical measurements Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, parts diagrams, and OEM documentation Comfortable performing occasional field service work at customer facilities Valid driver's license We are looking for a dependable mechanic who takes ownership of their work, works well in a team environment, and takes pride in quality craftsmanship.
