CT/MRI Tech Advanced - Full Time - Days

Overview Location: Methodist Jennie Edmundson Address: 933 E. Job Summary Performs Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) imaging examinations to produce detailed images of the human body for medical diagnostic purposes. Selected candidate will also be required to perform diagnostic imaging. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Smart Growth – learn and become proficient in other department duties; Partnership and Collaboration – participate in training/mentoring students during rotations/externships; manage supplies and inventory with Central Supply; assist with on-call and schedule adjustments; ensure efficient department workflow and accurate documentation. Quality and Safety – apply imaging protocols and positioning techniques with appropriate contrast; ensure exam accuracy and safety; educate staff and visitors on magnet/radiation safety; maintain and report equipment status. People – provide age-appropriate patient care, deliver a five-star experience, demonstrate standards of compassionate service, screen patients for safety, and assist physicians and coworkers as needed; participate in rotating call/back-up call for CT and/or MRI. Job Requirements Education Graduate from an approved American Medical Association (AMA) school of Radiologic Technology required. Participates in mandatory in-services and continuing education as mandated by policies/procedures/external agencies and supervisors. Experience One year experience in Computed Tomography (CT) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), or a graduate from an approved CT/MRI program. License/Certifications ARRT registered in Radiography (R) required. ARRT registered in CT and MR required within 12 months of hire. Current Radiologic Technologist License (RAD-NE) or Permit to Practice (RAD-IA) for work state required. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills with hospital personnel, patients, co-workers, and the public. Ability to perform multiple tasks; proficient with patients of all ages (infants to elderly). Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and ability to perform CT/MRI procedures with training provided. Ability to create 3D images and perform venipuncture for injections; manage IVs for power injector use. Willingness to participate in rotating call/back-up call for CT/MRI. Physical Requirements Weight Demands: Medium work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force. Physical Activity: Includes occasional, frequent, and constant actions such as climbing, kneeling, lifting, standing, reaching, and others as listed in the job description. Job Hazards Not Related: Explosives, Electrical Shock/Static, Radiation Non-Ionizing hazards. Rare: Chemical agents and mechanical moving parts/vibrations. Occasional: Biological agents, physical hazards, equipment/tools, radiation exposure, high magnetic fields up to 3 Tesla and RF exposure.
