Software Engineer - ServiceNow ITSM

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least 3 years of applied experience
• Hands-on experience implementing the ServiceNow platform
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and database query languages; JavaScript, GlideScript, or ServiceNow scripting is especially relevant
• Experience programming in Java, PHP, or Python
• Knowledge of ServiceNow development practices, including scripting, configuration, platform navigation, and custom widgets, along with strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
• Practical experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability in a large corporate environment
• Strong grounding in agile delivery, CI/CD, application resilience, and security
• Demonstrated knowledge of a technical discipline such as cloud, AI/ML, or mobile
• Extensive ServiceNow development knowledge, or the ability to learn a new platform quickly; experience should include custom widgets, platform navigation, configuration, and scripting
• Hands-on use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for activities such as coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation, with the ability to evaluate and refine generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resilience expectations; ability to guide peers in safe and effective use
• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies is preferred
• Exposure to cloud technologies is preferred
• Experience implementing Service Portal on ServiceNow is preferred
• Strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform and PaaS model, particularly for ServiceNow integration solutions, is preferred

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions, applying creative approaches to complex technical problems
• Write secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with relevant systems
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity on complex work; validate outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding practices, and share reusable patterns with the team
• Apply software development lifecycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation
• Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure software development meets design constraints
• Participate in software engineering communities of practice and events focused on emerging technologies
• Design, code, test, and deliver ServiceNow software using firm-wide frameworks and best practices
• Analyze and visualize large, diverse datasets to support continuous improvement of applications and systems
• Identify less-obvious data problems and patterns, using insights to improve coding practices and system architecture
• Follow and improve scrum practices to support ongoing team process improvement
• Work with the Business Analysis team to develop estimates and agile delivery plans
