Cost accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our finance team and lead our month-end closing process. Our client company is a premier, vertically integrated metal manufacturing partner providing end-to-end solutions-including aluminum extrusion, precision machining, fabrication, finishing, and full assembly-for major OEMs and Tier One suppliers. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the monthly financial close, ensuring accuracy in product costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Month-End Closing Leadership: Drive the end-to-end monthly financial close for our production facilities, guaranteeing precise and punctual reporting.
• Cost Structure & Variance Management: Establish and update standard costing models for material, labor, and overhead inputs. Investigate and report on production variances, including purchase price deviations, operational waste, and labor efficiency.
• Inventory Valuation & Reconciliation: Monitor and audit total inventory value, align sub-ledger records with the general ledger, and spearhead routine cycle counts and physical inventory audits.

Qualifications & Skills

• Professional Background: 3 to 5+ years of corporate accounting experience, with a dedicated track record in plant-level cost accounting.
• Academic Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant business discipline.
