We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Educator to join our Pediatric Department. This role combines clinical expertise, staff development, and leadership to support excellence in patient care and professional nursing practice.

The Nurse Educator plays a key role in staff training, orientation, competency development, and quality improvement initiatives. This position may also provide direct patient care, including assessment, triage (in-person and telephonic), care planning, and clinical support as needed. In the absence of a Nurse Supervisor or Nurse Manager, the Nurse Educator serves as the clinical lead for onsite nursing staff.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Practice & Leadership

• Provide direct patient care, triage, assessment, and care planning as needed

• Collaborate with the Pediatric Care Team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care

• Act as clinical lead in the absence of a Nurse Supervisor or Nurse Manager

• Monitor compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards

• Support a culture of patient safety and quality improvement

Education & Staff Development

• Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs aligned with departmental and organizational goals

• Facilitate orientation programs for new clinical staff

• Develop and deliver in-service training and continuing education programs

• Utilize evidence-based practices to enhance clinical and ancillary staff competency

• Incorporate institutional goals, values, and regulatory standards into educational initiatives

Mentorship & Professional Growth

• Serve as a mentor and resource to nursing staff

• Support staff during practice transitions and professional development

• Promote collaboration with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams

• Stay current with clinical, educational, and leadership best practices

Performance Improvement & Project Management

• Participate in nursing education planning and research initiatives

• Evaluate educational program outcomes and implement improvements as needed

• Support implementation of clinical research and best practices

• Collaborate with academic institutions to foster clinical education partnerships

Compliance & Knowledge Management

• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

• Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information

• Promote a safe, respectful, and culturally responsive work environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred

• Current and active RN license

• Pediatric and/or long-term care experience preferred

• Previous education, preceptor, or leadership experience strongly preferred

• Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
