Production Supervisor- 2nd Shift

Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift This position oversees a diverse manufacturing team to ensure manufacturing processes remain smooth and efficient. The supervisor monitors employees, organizes workflows, and is heavily involved in planning, scheduling, and monitoring production throughput. Responsibilities Supervises staff to produce manufactured products; organizes and monitors workflow. Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees. Assists the Plant Manager to ensure the daily production schedule is met and performs daily checks to align job schedules with parts/component availability and demand, ensuring employees have needed resources. Verifies and assigns necessary manpower to support schedule demand daily while maximizing labor utilization. Manages personnel issues including vacation approvals, time card approval, daily and weekly overtime, and employee discipline as required. Initiates, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, and procedures. Works with Technical Advisors to ensure production schedules are adhered to and met. Follows urgent and rework orders through the manufacturing process for efficient completion. Works with Manufacturing and Inventory Control Supervisor to assist the Materials Supervisor with review and response to expedite request inquiries. Receives, reviews, communicates, and assists with continual improvement of labor, material, and process errors identified by the Materials Analyst. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing production standards. Continually reviews and audits work instructions against actual process steps. Monitors, identifies, and continually seeks improvements related to scrap and rework issues. Performs special projects as directed and other duties as assigned. Actively participates in 5S and Safety objectives. Utilizes Epicor ERP and Qlik business intelligence apps to monitor the production schedule, labor efficiency, and machine utilization on an ongoing basis. Qualifications Associate’s degree in a technical field required or equivalent experience. Three to five years of production scheduling experience required. Google Apps Platform experience preferred (Sheets, Gmail, Docs, Forms). Analytical problem solving, critical thinking, ability to read and interpret drawings, attention to detail, measuring and math skills. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices, 5‑S, workflow planning, production floor controls, OSHA compliance, and team building. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods standing. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
