Network Engineer (Juniper)

Salary: $93,600 - 114,400 per year Requirements:

• At least 3 years of network engineering experience in a service provider, ISP, telecommunications, cable, or carrier setting
• Hands-on experience with Juniper platforms, including MX, ACX, and QFX series
• Strong routing and switching knowledge, including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and VLANs
• Background in planning and delivering network migrations, hardware refreshes, or platform replacement efforts
• Experience writing and executing MOPs/MOFs and production change procedures
• Ability to review existing configurations independently and design replacement configurations
• Experience carrying out customer migrations, maintenance windows, and production cutovers
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex routed environments
• Preferred: experience with large-scale network modernization initiatives
• Preferred: familiarity with Cisco and Nokia platforms, including Cisco ASR/7600/9000 and Nokia 7210/7750
• Preferred: exposure to network inventory or provisioning tools such as Granite
• Preferred: project management or project coordination experience
• Preferred: experience working with implementation, provisioning, or network operations teams
• Preferred certifications: JNCIP, JNCIS, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Service Provider, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, CCIE Service Provider, Nokia NRS, or ITIL Foundation

• Review existing router and switch configurations and build migration approaches
• Prepare detailed Method of Procedure documents and implementation guides
• Design replacement configurations and rollout plans for new network platforms
• Carry out migrations, cutovers, and production changes during scheduled maintenance windows
• Support large-scale EOS/EOL network refresh programs
• Coordinate work with engineering, operations, field technicians, staging teams, and third-party providers
• Troubleshoot routing, switching, and service migration issues in live environments
• Manage several migration efforts at once while meeting tight deadlines
• Take part in peer reviews and change management activities

We are supporting a large-scale network modernization and hardware refresh initiative for a complex service provider environment. This is a contract role based out of Charlotte, NC, with remote eligibility and a standard business-hours schedule that may include occasional evening or overnight maintenance windows. We offer the opportunity to work on a high-visibility Juniper migration program, collaborate with experienced engineering and operations teams, and potentially extend the contract based on performance and project needs.
