Job Title: Office Manager/Payroll/AccountingHybrid Type: Temp to Hire Pay Rate: $35 Start Date: ASAP Benefits: For eligible candidates we offer: Full medical, dental and vision insurance as well as 401K Mesquite, TX Hybrid Schedule (TBD) Payroll required Job Overview Location: Mesquite, TX 75149 (Onsite 3 Days Per Week) Schedule: 40 hours week Department: Accounting & Finance Pay: Competitive, Based on Experience About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support the day-to-day accounting functions of our growing organization. This position is responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, sales tax filings, and general accounting support. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable Review, code, and process vendor invoices Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies Route invoices for approval and process payments via check and ACH Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and payment information Reconcile vendor statements and respond to payment inquiries Prepare and process annual 1099 reporting Accounts Receivable Apply customer payments, including ACH, checks, and credit card transactions Prepare bank deposits and post receipts in the accounting system Monitor aging reports and assist with collection efforts Research payment discrepancies, short pays, disputes, and unapplied cash Issue credit memos as needed Maintain accurate customer account records, including billing information and tax exemption certificates Payroll Administration Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time Review timesheets and enter hours, PTO, bonuses, and deductions Maintain employee payroll records, including personnel and compensation updates Coordinate with payroll providers regarding tax filings and compliance requirements Ensure confidentiality of payroll and employee information Sales Tax & Compliance Prepare and file sales and use tax returns Reconcile tax accounts and maintain supporting documentation Monitor filing requirements and jurisdiction updates Assist with audit requests and tax notices General Accounting Support Assist with month-end close activities, reconciliations, and reporting Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records Support external audits and tax preparation activities Identify process improvement opportunities Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bookkeeping, or accounting support Experience processing payroll Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practicesStrong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Experience with NetSuite Experience with ADP payroll Experience preparing sales and use tax returns Knowledge of 1099 reporting and payroll tax filings What We’re Looking For Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organization and time management skills Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Strong problem-solving and research abilities Professional communication skills Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment
