Location: Rockport, ME
Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule: Shift: 10AM - 10:30PM Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 Weekend Hours: 24 every other weekend
Job Description: The Respiratory Therapist will provide expert respiratory care to patients across various age groups, including adults, pediatrics, and newborns in a birthing center. This position involves working independently as needed and collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments to patients according to prescribed protocols.
- Utilize advanced respiratory equipment, including ventilators and high-flow oxygen systems.
- Monitor patients' respiratory status and adjust therapies as needed.
- Document patient care activities in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care practices.
- Assist in emergency situations to ensure patient stability.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certifications are required.
- Ability to work in various patient settings; floating to other facilities as needed.
