Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a difference in the lives of students by providing specialized physical therapy services in a school-based environment. This contract role is ideal for a dedicated Physical Therapist who enjoys working with children from kindergarten through 8th grade. The position is part-time, offering 4 hours per week, and supports both Summer school (July 7th to July 30th, 2026) and the 2026/2027 academic year (August 24th, 2026 to June 11th, 2027).
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapist license (Maine preferred)
- Previous pediatric or school-based PT experience strongly recommended
- Comfortable working with students across a range of ages and developmental needs (K-8)
- Effective communication skills with students, families, and school team members
- Ability to maintain organized records and develop individualized treatment plans
Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students’ motor skills and physical development within the school setting
- Collaborate with educational staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct physical therapy sessions to students, focusing on improving mobility and functional abilities
- Track student progress and adjust therapy goals as needed
- Offer support and guidance to teachers and families to integrate therapy strategies into daily routines
