Location: Saint Louis, MO 63115
Pay Rate: $22.00-$23.00/hr, paid weekly
Contract Duration: 90 days, potential for being converted to permeant


Shifts: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM) & 3rd Shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Work Schedule: Biweekly Rotation, you will stay on either 2nd or 3rd shift.

• Week 1: Monday - Friday
• Week 2: Monday - Sunday (Mandatory weekends based on customer demand)

Overview

The Lab Technician supports product quality and plant operations by preparing and testing in-process and finished product samples using wet chemistry methods and laboratory instrumentation.

This position is responsible for routine process monitoring, equipment calibration, accurate documentation of test results, retained sample management, and communication with plant operations regarding required process adjustments. The technician will enter testing data into Total Lab Client (TLC) software and follow all applicable FDA, cGMP, OSHA, EPA, and BATF requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare in-process and finished product samples for laboratory testing.
• Perform analytical testing using wet chemistry techniques and laboratory instrumentation.
• Enter and maintain accurate test results in Total Lab Client (TLC) and other computerized data systems.
• Perform routine process-monitoring tests throughout the production facility.
• Communicate required process adjustments to plant operators based on testing results.
• Maintain retained product samples for analytical result verification when needed.
• Perform routine cleaning, light maintenance, and daily calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Operate equipment including pH meters, analytical balances, and spectrophotometers.
• Compare equipment readings against reference standards to verify calibration and accuracy.
• Monitor laboratory supply inventory and notify supervisors when materials need to be reordered.
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
• Follow all required safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Comply with FDA, cGMP, OSHA, EPA, BATF, and facility-specific policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a science-related discipline preferred. High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two or more years of science-related coursework preferred.
• Previous laboratory testing, wet chemistry, or quality control experience in a manufacturing or processing environment preferred.
• Hands-on experience using standard laboratory equipment, including pH meters, analytical balances, and spectrophotometers required.
• Experience with laboratory software systems such as Total Lab Client (TLC) preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and computerized data entry required.
• Strong mathematical and calculation skills.
• Ability to accurately interpret testing results and assist with troubleshooting.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Day 1 PPE Requirements must arrive with

• Long pants.
• Safety-toe boots that are at least 6 inches high and have a defined heel.
