Purus Systems installs and services CCTV, alarm, fire alarm, access control, and low-voltage systems for commercial and residential clients across the Bay Area. We're growing and hiring experienced technicians who can walk onto a job site, read the plans, and install clean, reliable systems with minimal hand-holding.
This is a hands-on field role for someone who already knows the trade — not an entry-level training position. If you've been pulling cable, mounting cameras, terminating devices, and commissioning panels for a few years, we want to talk.
What you'll do
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot CCTV / IP & PoE camera systems , burglar/intrusion alarms , fire alarm devices , and access control (card readers, door strikes, maglocks, request-to-exit, panic buttons).
- Run and dress low-voltage cabling — Cat5e/Cat6, coax, and fiber — through walls, ceilings, and conduit; build and terminate racks, IDF/MDF closets, and patch panels.
- Mount and configure devices, program panels and head-end software, and verify proper operation and camera coverage.
- Read and work from blueprints, drawings, and scopes of work; redline as-builts.
- Keep job sites clean, safe, and on schedule; communicate status to leads and clients.
What we're looking for (must-haves)
- 3+ years of hands-on installation experience in CCTV, alarm, fire alarm, access control, or low-voltage security systems (installation — not just monitoring, sales, or warehouse).
- Solid low-voltage cabling skills: pulling, terminating, and testing Cat5e/6, coax, and fiber.
- Comfortable with hand and power tools, ladders/lifts, and working at heights.
- Able to read installation drawings and follow a scope of work independently.
- Valid driver's license
- Based in the Bay Area within commuting range of Livermore (East Bay / Tri-Valley / Tracy area preferred).
Nice to have (a plus, not required)
- Low Voltage License , Alarm Installer License , and/or Fire Alarm License .
- OSHA 10 / OSHA 30 , aerial/scissor lift certification, First Aid/CPR.
- Experience with brands/platforms like Hikvision, Avigilon, Bosch, DSC, Honeywell, Bay Alarm, ADT, Vivint, Kastle, or similar.
- Fire alarm experience (smokes, strobes, speaker-strobes, testing/inspection).
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
