About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical nursing required. License: Must possess a valid compact nursing license. Certifications: BLS certification required. Must-Have: - Previous charge nurse experience. - Experience with patient ratios of 1:6-8. - Proficient in charting system experience with Epic. - Travel experience required. Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in Medical Surgical nursing. The nurse will float between units based on facility needs. Weekends will be required based on the needs of the facility, with a minimum expectation of every other weekend. The nurse will work night shifts, completing three 12-hour shifts per week. The expected patient ratio on this unit is 1 nurse to 6-8 patients. The facility is a teaching hospital with 91 staffed beds. Nurses must possess skills in managing CVA, isolation precautions, and pre/post neurosurgery care. Candidates must be comfortable with oxygen administration and peripheral line care/management. Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities. Refusal to float may result in assignment termination. Candidates must commit to working three of five major holidays throughout the contract.
