This role focuses on operating and setting up CNC mills and lathes to machine industrial bearings in a high-mix, low-volume environment. You will perform G and M code edits, conduct quality inspections using precision measuring tools, and interpret blueprints to ensure parts meet exact specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC mills and lathes to machine industrial bearings in a high-mix, low-volume production environment.
• Set up CNC machines, including tooling, workholding, and program loading, to meet job specifications.
• Edit G and M code at the machine as needed to optimize performance and ensure part accuracy.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
• Use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and verify dimensional accuracy.
• Perform in-process and final quality inspections to ensure components meet required tolerances and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, make necessary adjustments, and maintain consistent part quality.
• Work with multiple CNC brands and controls, adapting to different machines and setups as needed.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members and participate in training plans to continuously improve skills and processes.

• At least 4 years of CNC machining experience.
• Hands-on experience operating CNC mills and lathes.
• Proficiency in CNC setup, including tooling and workholding.
• Ability to perform basic G and M code edits at the machine.
• Strong blueprint reading skills for complex parts and assemblies.
• Proficient use of calipers and micrometers for precision measurement.
• Experience working in a high-mix, low-volume machining environment.
• Ability to perform quality inspections and verify tight tolerances.
• Solid understanding of machining processes and shop practices.

• Experience with multi-axis CNC machines is a significant plus.
• Familiarity with CNC brands such as Mitisui Seki, Toshiba, Mazak, Mori-Seki, and Integrex.
• Comfort working with various CNC controls and programming interfaces.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and skill development.

Work Environment

You will work in a climate-controlled, typical machine shop environment equipped with modern CNC machinery and support equipment. The facility offers multiple shifts, including a first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and a third shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with a 10% shift premium for third shift. Shifts are structured in 8-hour blocks, and once you demonstrate strong performance, you can choose your preferred hours within the available options. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and consistent production quality.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of West Bend, WI.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $34.00/hr.
