Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients (age 18 and up) with intensive symptom management needs at end of life
• Perform astute patient assessments to advocate for patients who may no longer be able to communicate for themselves
• Deliver skilled IV therapy and wound care to patients with complex medical needs
• Support and manage families in crisis with compassion and professionalism
• Operate and monitor patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pumps as needed
• Care for general medicine overflow patients as unit needs require

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Minimum of 2 years of recent palliative care or acute medical/surgical nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Strong IV skills and wound care proficiency
• Ability to manage patients with complex needs and support families in crisis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pumps
• Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) certification
