Phlebotomist

Job Summary Loyal Source Government Services is looking for 4 full-time phlebotomists to provide services to the Department of Veterans (VA) Maine Medical Center (TOGUS) in Augusta, Maine. Phlebotomists must deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to our Veteran population located at the VA Maine Medical Center. Pay Rate: $20.11 per hour Duties Perform patient phlebotomy to include inpatient ward rounds, inpatient and outpatient, Emergency Department, STAT, ASAP, and timed draws Perform sample processing and send out preparation Positively identify patients prior to sample collection and samples prior to testing or aliquoting Safeguard electronic and paper patient information Independently test, evaluate, document, and report patient testing and Quality Control Identify, document, and resolve any collection, processing, testing, or reporting issues Assure patient-centered care and provide service in a professional manner Qualifications A current CPR/BLS certificate by the American Heart Association is required. Must hold an active, current licensure as a professional nurse in the state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory. Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience. Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or accredited by the NLNAC at the time the program was completed. Additional Information VA Business Hours: 24/7, including weekends and Federal Holidays. Shifts: 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. ½ hour unpaid break each shift Benefits W2 pay package with paid leave, holidays and eligibility for health insurance options.
