Job Description

The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This role involves providing routine and complex care while developing the ability to cope with and manage clinical contingencies.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable One CHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments following appropriate protocols; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Current NRP certification required.
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only).
• Current certification from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate FH, NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM).
• Current STABLE certification required.
• RN License in the state of NM or compact.
