Locksmith I (Monday - Friday 7:55 am - 4:25 pm)

Job Summary Install, repair, rebuild and service mechanical locking devices located at various entry points on and within campus buildings. Maintain related records. This position will interact on a consistent basis with coworkers, facility forepersons, contractors and vendors. Responsibilities Install/replace locking devices at locations as assigned. Assemble/disassemble locks; repair/replace worn parts. Cut keys by code or by tracing. Store and maintain master keys for campus facilities. Requisition parts and materials as directed. Maintain records. Perform other duties as assigned. Educational Requirements High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma. Required Experience Two to three years of job-related experience. Skills This job requires a working knowledge of and skills in lock and access equipment installation and maintenance. Related skills in proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment, maintaining stock and providing customer service, and the use of specialized computer applications are also required. Other Information This is not a supervisory position. This position does not have any financial responsibilities. This position will be required to drive. This role considered a position of trust. This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card). This position will not travel. This position does not require security clearance.
