Operations Manager

Operations Manager Company: Tuttnauer USA – U.S. Sales & Marketing Subsidiary of a Global Medical Technology Manufacturer Position Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operational, purchasing, inventory, and supply chain activities of the U.S. organization. This position serves as the primary operational interface between the U.S. subsidiary and the global parent company, ensuring product availability, efficient inventory management, timely customer deliveries, and compliance with company procedures. The role oversees warehouse operations, purchasing, inventory planning, logistics coordination, and operational process improvement while supporting the continued growth of the business. Key Responsibilities Operations Leadership Team Leadership: Manage, coach, and develop the operations and warehouse team to support performance, accountability, and growth. Daily Operations: Oversee day-to-day operational activities to ensure accurate order fulfillment, timely customer deliveries, and a high level of customer satisfaction. Performance Management: Establish, track, and report on key operational KPIs, including inventory turns, fill rates, on-time delivery, backorders, and warehouse productivity. Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives that improve operational efficiency, accuracy, workflow consistency, and overall customer service. Supply Chain & Global Coordination Global Liaison: Serve as the primary operational point of contact between the U.S. organization and global headquarters. Planning Coordination: Coordinate demand forecasts, production requirements, inventory replenishment, and shipment schedules to support business needs. Supply Assurance: Partner with manufacturing, logistics, and planning teams to maintain adequate product supply and minimize service disruptions. Issue Management: Monitor product availability and proactively address potential shortages, delays, or supply constraints. Policy Implementation: Support the rollout and adoption of corporate operational policies, systems, and procedures. Purchasing & Inventory Management Purchasing Execution: Manage purchasing activities for equipment, spare parts, accessories, and operational supplies. Purchasing Planning: Develop purchasing plans based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and business requirements. Inventory Optimization: Maintain appropriate inventory levels while reducing excess inventory and minimizing stockouts. Trend Analysis: Analyze inventory trends and recommend purchasing strategies that improve working capital utilization. Supplier Coordination: Coordinate supplier performance and purchasing activities with global headquarters and external vendors. Warehouse & Logistics Management Warehouse Operations: Oversee receiving, inventory control, warehousing, and shipping activities. Inventory Accuracy: Ensure accurate inventory records through cycle counts and established inventory control procedures. Transportation Management: Manage domestic transportation, freight providers, and logistics partners to support timely delivery. Quality and Compliance: Ensure warehouse and logistics activities comply with company quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements. Process & Systems Management ERP Data Integrity: Maintain accurate ERP data related to purchasing, inventory, and operations. Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze operational reports to support planning, decision‑making, and performance improvement. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate routine activities, and improve operational efficiency. System Optimization: Support the implementation and optimization of ERP, forecasting, and operational systems. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Internal Partnership: Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Service, Technical Service, Finance, and Marketing teams. Business Planning: Support forecasting, budgeting, and operational planning activities across the organization. Strategic Projects: Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. 5–10 years of experience in operations, purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management. Experience managing inventory and purchasing in a distribution or medical device environment preferred. Experience working with international organizations and global headquarters strongly preferred. Knowledge of ERP systems, inventory planning, forecasting, and logistics management. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Experience managing small teams and leading operational improvement initiatives. Supply Chain and Inventory: Supply chain management; inventory planning and forecasting; purchasing and vendor management. Operations and Systems: Warehouse operations; ERP systems and data analysis; process improvement. Leadership and Execution: Leadership and team development; project management; problem solving and decision making.
