ABOUT THE ROLE

As our HR Generalist, you’ll own the day-to-day execution of CBC’s core HR operations, payroll, compliance, benefits, and team member relations with the judgment and curiosity to see how the details connect to the bigger picture. You will report to the company's President.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF AN HR GENERALIST

Payroll & Compliance: run payroll accurately every cycle and keep CBC compliant on wage & hour, timekeeping, FLSA/overtime, tax withholding, and garnishments. Benefits Administration: own enrollment, eligibility, and vendor/broker relationships, and coordinate with payroll to keep deductions accurate. Employee Lifecycle: Own recruiting and hiring in partnership with hiring managers. Own onboarding and offboarding, including supporting terminations, ensuring consistent process and documentation across the employee lifecycle. Employee Relations: be the go-to resource for day-to-day questions, concerns, and conflicts across all CBC locations. Compliance & Risk Management: manage unemployment and workers’ compensation claims, OSHA and safety compliance, and required postings and recordkeeping. HR Operations & Reporting: keep HR systems, team member records, and the handbook accurate and current, and deliver effective reporting to leadership.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND REQUIREMENTS

Experience: 3–5 years of relevant HR experience. Payroll & benefits know-how: working knowledge of payroll processing, wage & hour law, and benefits administration. Independent judgment: comfortable owning day-to-day HR decisions without heavy oversight. Systems-minded: picks up new HR tools and processes quickly and manages them well. Coaches managers: comfortable helping managers build the skills and confidence to lead their own teams. Hourly workforce experience: hospitality, retail, manufacturing, or another hourly environment is a strong plus. EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System): experience working with a company that ran on EOS is a strong plus. Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience; SHRM-CP/PHR a plus.
