Optometric Technician

We’re looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you'll prepare patients for their eye exams, perform diagnostic testing, and help create a welcoming and personalized experience throughout every visit. While this position is ideally full-time, we're also open to hearing from experienced candidates seeking part-time opportunities. Key Responsibilities Welcome patients and help create a warm, professional, and positive experience throughout their visit. Obtain and accurately document patient medical history, medications, allergies, and reason for visit. Perform a variety of diagnostic tests, including visual acuity, auto-refraction, tonometry, retinal imaging, OCT, visual fields, and other clinical testing as directed. Prepare patients and exam rooms for examinations and assist in maintaining efficient patient flow. Accurately document testing results and patient information within the electronic medical record. Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment while following infection prevention and safety protocols. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a seamless patient experience. Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professionalism. Support the clinical team with daily operations and contribute to a collaborative, patient-focused environment. Experience, Skills, and Qualifications Two or more years of experience in optometry, ophthalmology, or another medical office (preferred). Experience performing diagnostic or clinical testing in a healthcare setting is considered an asset. CPO, COA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification is considered an asset but is not required. Strong patient service and interpersonal skills with a warm, professional demeanor. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. High attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong computer skills and confidence in learning new software and diagnostic technology. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-first mindset. A willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continuously develop new skills. The ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy in all aspects of patient care. Why Work With Us?
