Head of Insurance Business Development, Americas (Asset Management)

Focus on executing client engagement activities, supporting business development initiatives, and collaborating across Asset management and the wider HSBC Group to deliver growth outcomes.What you’ll do:Lead the Insurance Business Development team across the US and Bermuda to grow HSBC Asset Management’s insurance franchise.Help deliver agreed commercial outcomes, including net new assets and annualized net new revenue.Build and execute client action plans with the Head of Insurance Business Development, Americas.Engage insurance clients and prospects (Life, P&C and reinsurance) through meetings, campaigns and ongoing relationship activity.Identify new business opportunities and support pipeline progression through disciplined commercial prioritization.Partner with the Global Insurance team, US Liquidity team, and Financial Instituitions Group (FIG) bankers in Corporate and Instituitional Banking (CIB) to meet insurer needs and enable cross-sell.Contribute to improving HSBC AM’s brand presence in the US and Bermuda through coordinated internal and external engagement.Develop and maintain a strong understanding of HSBC AM capabilities and support ongoing product platform development.Ensure client interactions are properly documented and maintained in the Asset Management CRM system.Operate in line with regulatory expectations, HSBC Global Standards, and Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) requirements.What you need to succeed:Proven client-facing experience in Asset Management or FIG Banking, with exposure to insurance clients in the region.Good knowledge of the US and Bermuda insurance market and relevant asset management solutions.Awareness of insurance industry trends and the regulatory environment impacting insurers and their investments.Strong relationship-building skills with the confidence to engage senior-level clients and internal stakeholders.Proven ability to collaborate across teams (Asset Management, specialist sales, and banking partners) to deliver shared outcomes.Commercial discipline: ability to prioritize effectively and manage competing stakeholder demands with limited resources.Strong communication skills, including transparent updates on priorities, changes and challenges.High standards of conduct and control: commitment to internal controls, audit readiness, and timely escalation of issues.Understanding of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles and how they apply in day-to-day client work.Relevant regulatory licenses required SIE, 7, 66 (or 63 & 65); professional qualifications preferred (e.g., CFA, actuarial or investment credentials).As an HSBC employee, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities to ensure you have the right skills for today and tomorrow.
