General Function A licensed Optician at Sunglass Hut will serve as an ambassador of the brand by delivering great service through the Sunglass Hut Experience. You will be an on‑floor leader, fitting and adapting lenses and frames, and will perform all functions related to the Store Operations to support management in achieving sales goals. You will also be responsible for operating the store, including opening, closing, and daily procedures. Major Duties and Responsibilities Welcome all customers and set expectations Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses Act as a leader in optical acumen Take & record measurements, accurately adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards & customer needs Assist team with complex product needs & prescriptions Accurately and thoroughly use technology under time pressure, maintain exceptional product knowledge, and use appropriate tools Proactively explore root cause of issues, be forward‑thinking, ensure customer satisfaction and exceed expectations, and drive solutions Multi‑task, prioritize & manage time amid competing priorities Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs & competencies Take pride in store appearance, help keep store clean, attractive & organized Be resourceful, self‑motivated with a desire for continual learning, improvement & results Adhere to company policies & procedures, including discounts, promotions & inventory management Basic Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent State licensure in Opticianry Optical dispensing experience Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener & team builder Knowledge of current store merchandise Strong basic math skills Awareness of current fashion trends Selling skills – ability to use & carry an iPad/tablet Familiarity with POS, computers & calculators Embrace new technology & change Preferred Qualifications Previous customer service & retail experience Benefits Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
