Staff Accountant

Jennie Joiner with Forum Group PNW is partnering with a large, established multi-entity organization in Albany, Oregon to recruit a Staff Accountant for its corporate accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who enjoys being involved in a broad range of general accounting responsibilities rather than being limited to one area. The position will work closely with the Controller and accounting team and will have exposure to month-end close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, fixed assets, lease accounting, tax-related activities, and process improvement. What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, financial statement preparation and analysis
• Prepare and review balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
• Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Perform GL account analysis and research discrepancies
• Support fixed asset accounting and property tax reporting
• Assist with lease accounting, including ASC 842 schedules and lease monitoring
• Support financial and cost analysis
• Assist with annual audits, internal controls, and ad hoc reporting
• Work across multiple entities and assist with intercompany transactions and balances
• Partner with other departments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information
• Help streamline accounting processes, document procedures, and develop SOPs
• Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as the organization continues to grow

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of general accounting experience
• Strong general ledger and account reconciliation experience is essential
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Multi-entity and intercompany accounting experience is highly desirable
• Exposure to tax, treasury, payroll, fixed assets, or property tax is helpful but not required
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Experience working within an ERP system
• Strong attention to detail and technical accounting aptitude
• Ability to identify inefficiencies and help improve and document processes
• Comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative team member
• Adaptable, positive, and willing to help wherever needed within the accounting department

Schedule & Environment:

This position is currently 100% onsite in Albany, Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility for appointments and family needs. The accounting team offers a collaborative and approachable environment with a Controller who provides autonomy and does not micromanage. They are looking for someone who wants to become part of the team, contribute ideas, and grow with the organization over the long term. Travel is minimal and would generally only occur occasionally for training at another company location.
