Manufacturing Process Improvement SpecialistDevelops and implements improvements in the manufacturing process by studying product manufacturing methods and process flows. (heavy manufacturing production floor presence)Duties and Responsibilities:Provide support for continuous improvement activitiesDevelop layouts (AutoCad, DWG)Prepare time and motions studies, BOM's, routings, Work Instructions Chart process flow, Control plans, PFMEAPerform research on best materials and methods for manufacturingProvide project management for larger projectsPrepare and maintain Gantt chartsCoordinate with Lean teamsParticipate in Lean events and follow up on approved improvements to insure their effectiveness and continued valueProvide leadership by guiding the activitiesOther Key Responsibilities:Periodically report on progressSeek assistance when confronted with obstaclesProvide support for any major equipment and process installation and setupInterface with equipment manufacturer, operations, maintenance, safety, qualityTrain affected employeesEstablish maintenance schedules, calibration needs, safety guarding and procedures, etc.Work with Operation Management to establish goals for improvement in Safety, Quality and productivityCreate and produce supporting documentation required for CAPEX on equipment (ROI)Working Conditions:Primarily working indoors, office environmentMay sit for several hours at a timeProlonged exposure to computer screensRepetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiersTravel to customer or other Lippert facilities may be requiredFloor time at customers or other Lippert facilities may be required which may include walking, kneeling, crouching, sitting, standingQualifications:Bachelor's degree in EngineeringAuto CAD SolidWorks Sigmanest Robowave LantekWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsCompetencies:Leadership skillsTechnical skillsProblem solving skillsProject management skillsEffective communication skillsAttention to detailPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work could also become necessary.
