About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Tax to lead its enterprise tax function. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning the tax strategy, risk posture, and compliance across the consolidated group, including life and non-life insurance subsidiaries. This role involves managing the tax team, overseeing the co-sourcing relationship, and serving as a strategic partner to various internal stakeholders on the tax implications of enterprise decisions. The Vice President of Tax will also be involved in enterprise leadership, team management, and will be expected to set the vision and roadmap for the tax function, including organizational structure, talent strategy, and technology investment. Applicants for the Vice President of Tax position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a CPA required. A minimum of 15 years of progressive tax experience, including significant life insurance company taxation experience, is necessary, with at least 5 years in a people-leadership role. The role requires deep knowledge of ASC 740 and SSAP 101, experience in managing tax compliance, provision, and planning for a multi-entity corporate group, and a proven track record in managing outsourced/co-sourced tax relationships. A Master's degree in Taxation or a JD/LLM in Tax is preferred, along with experience in a Big 4 or national public accounting firm insurance tax practice, and expertise in reinsurance, partnership, and complex investment structures.
