Cardiology Pharmacist Float - Inpatient Clinical Services Per Diem

Job ID: 88314, Location: Sacramento, Full/Part Time: Part Time The Clinical Pharmacist participates in general clinical patient care and operational activities, as well as providing support to various pharmacy areas as needed. Their responsibility is to provide quality and cost-effective pharmaceutical care to patients, employees, and medical staff of UCDMC. They are an integral member of the health care team, responsible for drug therapy monitoring, drug distribution, drug information, precepting pharmacy students and residents, conducting or contributing to clinical research, participation in Department and Hospital Committees, task forces and workgroups, and foster excellent interdepartmental relationships. California Pharmacist License eligible and possess a valid license at the time of hire American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, or UC Davis Health CPR within 90 days of hire Doctor of Pharmacy, or equivalent training Completion of a Post Graduate Year Two (PGY-2) American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Accredited Residency Program in relevant area (e.g., Cardiology, etc.), or equivalent experience Three (3) years of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience Ability to communicate well and make independent decisions to resolve minor problems as they arise Ability to supervise technicians and establish priorities of workflow Complete working knowledge of, and skill to apply, practices, principles and techniques of patient care related to area of expertise Written and oral communication skills to clearly and concisely provide information, explanations and instructions to, and to elicit information from others with varying levels of ability to understand, including individuals who are ill or distressed, or who may not speak English Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain a friendly, welcoming environment for clinic's/department's customers; to demonstrate an interested, understanding, compassionate manner; to maintain a courteous and calm demeanor; and to use a proactive approach to negotiate with and persuade others to take required action Ability to maintain composure, efficiency and a positive, customer-service oriented manner during periods of peak workload, with frequent interruptions, under tight deadlines, and when interacting with challenging customers who may be ill, angry, or emotionally distressed. The Department is comprised of three inpatient and six outpatient pharmacies, a sterile production lab and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores and distribution.
