This opportunity offers the chance to handle a diverse defense caseload with support from an experienced legal team and a firm committed to keeping its attorneys current on case law and legislative developments. The role is based in Woodland Hills and offers a hybrid work arrangement. Responsibilities: Manage a caseload of workers’ compensation defense matters from inception through resolution. Analyze claims, medical records, and other evidence to develop effective case strategies. Conduct depositions and represent clients at hearings and other proceedings. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents. Advise clients on claim exposure, case developments, and litigation strategy. Negotiate settlements and pursue timely, appropriate resolutions. Monitor relevant case law and legislative updates affecting workers’ compensation matters. Must-Have Skills: Active membership in the California State Bar. Residence within the state of California. Strong analytical, legal writing, and litigation skills. Knowledge of California workers’ compensation law and defense practices. Ability to manage a caseload and communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel. Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience handling depositions, hearings, and settlement negotiations. Familiarity with subrogation, lien resolution, mediation, or major loss claims.
