Construction accounting isn't like other accounting, job costing, WIP schedules, retainage, and percentage-of-completion aren't afterthoughts, they're the job. We're looking for a Controller who speaks that language fluently and is ready to lead our accounting function through continued growth. On Your Plate: Own the month-end and year-end close process, including job cost accounting and WIP reporting Prepare and review percentage-of-completion schedules and ensure accurate revenue recognition across active projects Oversee AIA billing, retainage tracking, and subcontractor payment processes Ensure financial statements comply with GAAP and construction industry accounting standards Manage banking relationships, bonding requirements, and surety reporting Lead the annual audit process and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and bonding agents Partner with Project Managers and Operations to keep job costs and budgets aligned Build and maintain strong internal controls across accounting and project financial processes Manage and develop the accounting team What Gets You Noticed: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with meaningful time in construction or a project-based industry Strong hands‑on knowledge of job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion accounting Experience with surety/bonding relationships and AIA billing a strong plus Comfortable being the financial translator between the field and the office Prior experience leading or developing an accounting team #J-18808-Ljbffr
