AMI Expeditionary Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Radiologist to provide onsite services at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center , part of the South Texas Veterans Health Care System in San Antonio, Texas.

The Interventional Radiologist will perform a broad range of image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in accordance with American College of Radiology (ACR) standards, VA clinical guidelines, and established best practices.

What You’ll Do

• Perform a comprehensive range of interventional radiology procedures, including:
  • Image-guided biopsies, drainages, and catheter placements
  • Vascular access and interventions, including angioplasty, stenting, and thrombolysis
  • Embolization procedures
  • Dialysis access management
  • Paracentesis and thoracentesis
  • Biliary interventions
• Provide direct patient care and clinical management before, during, and following procedures.
• Complete consultations, procedures, reports, and required documentation accurately and within established timeframes.
• Document patient care in the VA’s electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Communicate results, treatment recommendations, and care plans effectively with patients and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Collaborate closely with VA physicians, residents, nurses, and other clinical professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with VA policies and directives, HIPAA requirements, patient privacy regulations, and ACR practice standards.
• Provide backup coverage as needed to support continuity of patient care.

Schedule

• Regular hours are Mon-Fri 7am-4pm
• Ability to participate in off-hours on-call coverage , including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Respond to calls within 15 minutes .
  • Report onsite within 60 minutes when required .

What We’re Looking For

• Board Certification in Interventional Radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
• Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.
• Current DEA registration.
• Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) .
• Demonstrated technical proficiency across a broad range of interventional radiology procedures.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Ability to successfully complete AMI’s credentialing process.
