Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Tool Grinder to perform progressive machining on a diversified line of close-tolerance work requiring a varying degree of skill and machining techniques. Diagnose and rectify tooling problems and machine malfunctions. Work from drawings, specifications, and job layouts. Ability to set up, adjust, and operate a variety of manual grinders and surface grinders.

Responsibilities:

• Sharpen and maintain production tooling.
• Operate surface grinders with a high level of proficiency.
• Use production schedules to ensure tooling is ready for production runs.
• Using a shop router and/or a drawing, set up dies and the specific layout holding exact tolerances.
• Repair production machines
• Calculate and confirm the tool conditions set for each job.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Good Mechanical Skills to repair machines
• Experience with surface grinders and a general knowledge of machining practices.
• Excellent shop math – test will be given.
• Able to read a ruler, micrometer, and caliper.

The base salary range for this position is $22-25, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note that hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
