Please click here to learn more about our locations.CURRENT EMPLOYEES: Please log into Workday Click Here to apply internally through the \"Jobs Hub\"Job DescriptionJob SummaryThe Medical Assistant (MA) will support and facilitate clinic operations by performing clinical, clerical, and technical duties, including patient rooming, documentation during visits, assisting with minor procedures, managing supplies, supporting Telehealth services when applicable, and flexing to administrative support when needed. This role requires strong communication skills, clinical competence, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to ensure an optimal care experience for patients and families.Key ResponsibilitiesEscort patients from waiting room(s) to exam room(s), confirming date of birth and ensuring patients are in the proper attire required for their visitAt relevant sites, MAs will walk patients to radiology or POPs rooms/waiting areas, in addition to rooming for clinicObtain patient vitals (height, weight, temperature, pulse, BP, etc.), draw blood, and conduct basic medical history (including chief complaint, medication history, social history, and family history)Monitor Epic DAR and communicate with all relevant teams (front desk, radiology, POPs, etc.) to ensure timely rooming and patient handoffsDirect physicians and APPs to patient rooms based on Epic DAR statusPrepare exam rooms daily; stock and maintain supplies and equipmentAt relevant sites, support cast room setup, cleaning, and supply managementRequired QualificationsMedical Assistant CertificationAcceptable certifications include, but are not limited to: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA Required in states where certification is mandated by law or regulation. In non-mandated states, certification is preferred but not required.Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 30-90 days of hirePreferred Qualifications1 year Pediatric/Ambulatory CareEMR SystemsSpanish proficiency is preferredFamiliarity with Microsoft Office tools, HIPAA, infection control, and patient safety protocols is preferredCompensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity. #J-18808-Ljbffr Shriners Children's
