SUMMARY

Prepares documents, creates and maintains records, answers phones, and responds to inquiries and needs of the Transportation Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares route sheets, bus rosters, payroll reports, memos, letters, and various documents;
• Compiles, copies, sorts, updates and maintains department files, inventory, mailing and database systems, either manually or using a computer;
• Types, formats, proofreads, and edits correspondence;
• Computes, records, and proofreads data and other information such as records or reports;
• Reviews files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests;
• Maintains records and reports of fuel consumption; maintain emergency forms and bus attendance;
• Answers telephones, take and route messages, answer radio calls and follow specified procedures;
• Handles inquires and concerns of parents, providers, drivers, riders, mechanics, and the general public in a courteous and responsible manner;
• Completes schedules, manage calendars, and arrange appointments as directed;
• Opens, sorts, and routes incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepare outgoing mail;
• Operates office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers;
• Assist transportation staff with basic computer entry tasks;
• Performs other duties as assigned.
