Vice President of Construction

Carolina Search Group is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a growing commercial general contractor seeking an experienced construction executive to help guide the next stage of its growth. The company has a growing project footprint throughout the Southeast with plans for continued expansion. This individual will work closely with executive leadership to continue strengthening the operational foundation while maintaining a strong focus on people, project performance, and client relationships. This is an opportunity for an accomplished construction leader who understands how strong teams, effective systems, and operational discipline come together to build a scalable organization. What You'll Do Partner with executive leadership to help guide construction operations and support the company's long-term growth strategy. Provide senior-level leadership across a growing portfolio of commercial and industrial projects across the Southeast. Develop and support construction leaders while helping build a culture centered around accountability, communication, and teamwork. Evaluate and strengthen operational systems, policies, and procedures as the organization continues to scale. Help establish consistency across project planning, execution, financial performance, and operational reporting. Work across departments to improve communication and alignment as project volume and geographic reach continue to expand. Help ensure the organization maintains the responsiveness, relationships, and entrepreneurial mindset that have contributed to its success. What We're Looking For Significant commercial construction leadership experience helping lead a growing general contractor or business unit through meaningful periods of expansion. Strong understanding of construction operations, project financial performance, scheduling, risk management, and team development. Demonstrated ability to develop leaders and build high-performing teams. Experience implementing or improving policies, procedures, systems, and operational processes. Strategic mindset combined with a practical understanding of how successful construction projects are executed. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with executive leadership, project teams, clients, and business partners.
