  • Review complex and highly judgmental accounting matters, maintain strong balance-sheet discipline, and drive timely root cause resolution of discrepancies and control issues.
  • Maintain financial governance over working capital and cash conversion, including receivables, inventory, payables, credit, excess and obsolete reserves, physical inventories, and cycle counts.
  • Manufacturing & Commercial Accounting
  • Own the financial integrity of standard costing, inventory valuation, absorption, and manufacturing variances, including material, labor, overhead, purchase price, scrap and yield, productivity, and capacity variances.
  • Partner closely with the Director of Manufacturing Operations to explain performance, challenge assumptions, validate productivity benefits, strengthen plant controls, and improve cost visibility and decision‑making.
  • Establish and maintain robust end‑to‑end accounting and controls for customer rebates, sales commissions, and warranty programs, including accrual methodologies, approvals, reconciliations, claims, true‑ups, and payment validation.
  • Ensure accurate gross‑margin reporting by business unit, product, and site, and support operational, commercial, and strategic business decisions with fact‑based accounting and cost insights.
3. Controls, Compliance & Systems
  • Maintain a robust internal control environment that supports compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements, SPX policies, and financial reporting standards.
  • Lead Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance, internal controls, Delegation of Authority governance, audit readiness and remediation, internal and external audits, tax information packages, and record‑retention requirements.
  • Govern JDE, OneStream, and related financial processes and data; drive simplification, standardization, automation, and sustainable process improvement across the Hydronics portfolio.
  • Support inorganic growth through financial due diligence, accounting assessments, purchase‑accounting support, opening‑balance‑sheet validation, control design, systems and process integration, and post‑close stabilization.
  • Identify risks early, establish clear ownership and action plans, and ensure issues are resolved promptly and sustainably.
4. Business Partnership & FP&A Interface
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Director of Finance and business leadership on accounting implications, financial risk, working capital, investments, and operational decisions.
  • Partner with FP&A by providing high‑integrity actuals, accounting judgments, operating drivers, and risk and opportunity insights that enable planning, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Support pricing, sourcing, make‑or‑buy, capital, and other strategic decisions; validate the financial integrity of business cases, accounting treatment, and realized benefits.
  • Translate complex accounting and operational matters into clear, actionable recommendations and maintain ownership through resolution.
  • Working Capital, Credit & Cash Management
  • Maintain oversight of working capital performance, including accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, and cash flow.
  • Partner with business leaders to establish and execute actions that improve receivables performance, inventory turns, payment practices, and cash conversion.
  • Oversee credit and collections policies and practices, including assessment of customer credit risk and resolution of past‑due balances.
  • Monitor inventory levels, excess and obsolete reserves, physical inventory activities, cycle‑count results, and inventory adjustments.
  • Review working capital trends and communicate risks, opportunities, and corrective actions to leadership.
  • Ensure appropriate financial governance and controls are maintained throughout order‑to‑cash, procure‑to‑pay, and inventory‑management processes.
  • Leadership & Organizational Capability
  • Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team; establish clear accountability, cross‑training, succession plans, and high standards of execution.
  • Build strong partnerships across accounting, operations, FP&A, commercial teams, shared services, IT, tax, and corporate finance.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, constructive challenge, continuous improvement, collaboration, and disciplined follow‑through.
