Accounting Specialist

Job Description Job ID#: 11057 Job Category: Accounting Position Type: Full Time, Regular Responsibilities Prepare royalty and severance tax reporting for EOG reporting States and ONRR. Responsible for Ohio Severance Tax and Royalty reporting, and reporting to other States as needed. Research and analyze royalty and severance tax reports and communicate data results. Audit and data compliance for the Regulatory accounting team; file monthly reports, corrected reports, volume and price reconciliations and analysis. Effectively communicate with multiple disciplines to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with all government regulations. Conduct annual visits to reporting agencies with management as needed. Reconcile royalty payable accounts monthly, test system enhancements and conversions, and complete special projects. Identify and resolve discrepancies and issues when encountered. Assist with audits and reporting to Federal and Indian leases (ONRR) may be required. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related business field from an accredited institution, with core accounting classes relevant to the position. CPA designation is a plus. Strong PC and analytical skills (MS Excel, Word, etc.). Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet rigorous deadlines. Knowledge of SQL, AS/400 system, and MS Query is a plus. Ability to work and communicate effectively with others within and outside the organization. Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
