UCS has also been recognized as one of Cleveland's City Champions by The Plain Dealer, a National Green Ribbon School for Environmental Practices and Learning Model, and a School of Excellence by the Cleveland Foundation and The George Gund Foundation.ResponsibilitiesFollow appropriate school routes, picking up and dropping off students at the designated locations and times for arrival, dismissal, and field trips.Drive in a safe and conscientious manner following all state/federal laws and school policies.Attentive, courteous, and friendly with students ranging from age 5 - 13.Communicate with students, parents/caregivers, and educators.Maintain a clean vehicle and be attentive to mechanical issues.Completes periodic mileage reports and other reports including passenger counts.Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid, and training updates as required.Education and ExperienceHold a valid driver's license.Hold a motor van driver certification, or willing to obtain.Possession of a clean, safe driving record.Knowledge of safe driving practices.Ability to exercise good judgment and extreme caution while driving.Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentProlonged periods of standing, walking, and climbing stairs in a two story building.Prolonged periods of sitting and driving.FBI/BCI background check.Successful completion of a T8 physical and drug/alcohol testing.Skills and CompetenciesPassionate about fulfilling the mission of UCS.Self-starter with ability to work independently and with a team.Applies superb judgment and maintains confidentiality.Flexible and willing to make adjustments based on the needs of the organization.Compensation and BenefitsHourly wage commensurate with experience ($20 - $25 per hour)401(k) with a generous employer contribution and match.Casual work attire (denim and UCS spirit wear are welcomed)On-site fitness center for faculty and staffFinancial and retirement advising at no cost to employeesOpportunities for discounts on home, rental and auto-insuranceAdditional InformationStatus: Part-Time; Non-ExemptReports to: Operations ManagerHours & Schedule: 20 hours per week Monday through Friday (school year, August - May).
