We are currently seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Service Technician  to join their team in Hickory, NC. This is a great opportunity for a skilled fire sprinkler professional looking to build a long-term career with an established organization.

Job Summary

The Fire Sprinkler Service Technician will be responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial and industrial fire sprinkler systems. This position will ensure systems are operating properly and remain compliant with applicable NFPA codes and regulatory requirements.

The technician will work directly with customers, service coordinators, contractors, and internal teams to identify deficiencies, recommend repairs, and ensure fire protection systems remain safe and operational.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and test wet, dry, and pre-action fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 25 requirements.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with sprinkler systems and related components.
• Test and evaluate sprinkler heads, valves, piping, fire pumps, and associated equipment.
• Inspect piping, fittings, and connections for corrosion, leaks, damage, or other deficiencies.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs, including replacing damaged components, cleaning systems, lubricating equipment, and making necessary adjustments.
• Inspect and test fire pump assemblies, including flow rates, pressure levels, and mechanical operation.
• Respond to service calls and emergency requests, diagnose problems, and complete necessary repairs.
• Prepare accurate inspection reports documenting findings, test results, deficiencies, and recommended repairs.
• Document service activities, work orders, parts used, and customer notes within the company's service management system.
• Partner with the service sales/estimating team by providing detailed information regarding deficiencies, materials, labor needs, and recommended repairs.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding inspection findings, repairs, system concerns, and recommendations.
• Coordinate with Service Coordinators to ensure efficient scheduling, work orders, material needs, and customer service.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all company and job-site safety procedures.
• Stay current on applicable fire protection codes, standards, and industry practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience installing, inspecting, servicing, maintaining, or repairing fire sprinkler systems in commercial or industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of fire protection codes and standards, including NFPA 13 and NFPA 25.
• NICET certification is strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Ability to read and interpret fire sprinkler system drawings and related documentation.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work with your hands for extended periods.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
• Ability to work in a variety of environments, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and outdoor locations.
• Ability to work in conditions that may include noise, dust, heat, cold, low-light environments, and other job-site conditions.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools for cutting, grinding, drilling, fastening, and other mechanical tasks.
• Ability to utilize appropriate fall protection and other safety equipment when required.

Compensation: $30-$40/hr, based on experience
