Software Test Lead

Salary: $92,000 - 132,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of software testing and quality assurance experience, including at least 3 years leading QA teams or serving as a Test Lead on enterprise software projects.
• Strong experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks with Cypress.
• Experience with performance and load testing using Apache JMeter, Locust, or equivalent tools.
• Experience testing RESTful APIs with tools such as Postman, Swagger, or REST Assured.
• Experience validating responsive web applications across multiple browsers and devices.
• Experience conducting accessibility testing for Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and a strong understanding of the SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle management, and software quality practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Preferred: experience supporting federal government web applications; integrating automated tests into Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or other CI/CD pipelines; using Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks; and performing security testing, API testing, or database validation.
• Preferred: familiarity with the OWASP Top 10, DevSecOps, and secure application testing.
• Preferred: ISTQB Certified Tester, Certified Agile Tester, or equivalent QA certification.

• Lead quality assurance and testing planning, design, execution, and reporting throughout the SDLC.
• Create and maintain test strategies, plans, cases, scripts, data, traceability matrices, and summary reports.
• Establish and maintain automated testing frameworks, including Cypress, and develop functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end test suites.
• Plan and conduct performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing; analyze results, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to application scalability and reliability.
• Lead accessibility testing using manual and automated methods to assess compliance with Section 508, WCAG 2.1 AA, and federal accessibility requirements.
• Validate responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and functionality across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Work with Business Analysts and Product Owners to review requirements and define acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
• Partner with developers to identify, reproduce, document, and resolve defects.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and delivery.
• Monitor defects, testing metrics, risks, and quality trends using Azure DevOps, Jira, or comparable tools.
• Mentor QA engineers in testing methods, automation frameworks, accessibility testing, and performance engineering.
• Participate in Agile activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Ensure testing follows organizational quality standards, secure software development practices, and federal compliance requirements.
