Portfolio Manager and Trader – Fixed Income Separately Managed Account Team The Portfolio Manager and Trader will join Neuberger’s Fixed Income Separately Managed Account Team and lead the taxable business. Responsibilities Manage taxable US investment grade fixed income SMAs for Neuberger’s Intermediary and Private Net Worth sales channels. Oversee mandates including short duration, intermediate, core, and corporate ladder strategies. Position portfolios, model trades, manage cash flows, execute trades across a wide variety of fixed income asset classes, and monitor risk. Collaborate closely with Neuberger’s fixed income sector teams to identify investment opportunities across a variety of asset classes, including US Treasuries, agencies, investment grade corporate bonds, and agency mortgage‑backed securities. Implement investment ideas into portfolios and conduct daily monitoring to ensure compliance with investment strategies and guidelines. Partner with the Municipal Bond team to manage tax‑aware strategies. Communicate strategies and investment views to client portfolio managers. Maintain strong counterparty relationships through daily interactions across sales and trading. Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting, including attribution, writing commentary, client reviews, collateral documents, and RFPs. Qualifications 5–7+ years of experience in asset management. Experience managing and trading investment grade fixed income Separately Managed Accounts. Deep knowledge of fixed income markets, including investment grade corporates, US Treasuries, agencies, and agency MBS. Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or related field; MBA and/or CFA a plus. Highly motivated team player with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks independently, evaluate investment ideas, and take ownership of investment performance. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with investor tools. Preferred but not required: SIE, Series 7, and 66. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this role is $150,000–$185,000, with potential for discretionary bonuses, retirement contributions, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, and additional benefits to eligible employees.
