Job Description

As a Security Officer / EMT Part Time in River Rouge, MI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will help manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor activity, and respond to security-related concerns. This driving position offers the opportunity to provide outstanding customer service while helping to deter incidents through a visible presence and clear communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points at a utility industrial location, verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing authorized personnel according to site requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, operational areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Document daily activities, access-control events, and unusual occurrences accurately, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess EMT certification.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfortably use a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
