Job Description

A rewarding opportunity awaits an experienced Special Education Teacher to support a small caseload of students within a virtual school environment while working onsite at a district office near Pelham, AL. This contract position, running through June 2027, requires a dedicated educator passionate about delivering individualized instruction and support to roughly seven students in collaboration with the Special Education Director.

Key Qualifications:

Valid state licensure in Special Education
Previous experience working in virtual or blended school settings strongly preferred
Strong communication and collaboration skills for working closely with district-level administration
Proven ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs
Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with all relevant laws, guidelines, and reporting requirements

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction and support both in-person (at the district office) to virtual school students
Manage a small caseload, adapting teaching strategies to enhance learning outcomes for each student
Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to IEP meetings and progress reporting
Collaborate with the Special Education Director and other support staff to ensure comprehensive services for students
Provide timely communication and feedback to families and relevant stakeholders
