Position Summary The New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) Office of Student Pathways (Pathways) has outlined a bold vision to reimagine the educational experience for all students so they graduate with real world skills, a head start on postsecondary opportunities, and a strong plan toward rewarding careers and long term economic security. Within this vision, the CTE Programs and Pathways Coach supports career connected learning by coordinating a borough based portfolio of Career and Technical Education (CTE) schools and programs. The role serves as a liaison between schools, internal Pathways workstreams, and external partners to coordinate supports that align with city and state requirements. The position focuses on supporting adherence to NYCPS and New York State Education Department (NYSED) academic and CTE policies and continuous program improvement, ensuring that schools are supported to deliver high quality, labor market aligned CTE pathways. The CTE Programs and Pathways Coordinator collaborates with both central office based staff and school based teams to coordinate resources, data, professional learning, and technical assistance in support of strong student outcomes. This role contributes to ensuring that students graduate with real skills, meaningful credentials, and a strong plan for postsecondary success. Performs related work. Reports to Senior Director, CTE Program Approval and Quality Direct Reports N/A Key Relationships Student Pathways internal and external offices, Central office based Counselors; Operations and Facilities. School administrators; school based CTE instructional teams; Work Based Learning coordinators; school based Counselors. Participating community based organizations; postsecondary partners; industry partners. Responsibilities CTE Program Approval and Portfolio Coordination Coordinates school facing work related to CTE Program Approval and Program Quality for an assigned borough based portfolio of CTE schools and programs. Supports the Senior Director of CTE Program Approval and Quality by coordinating effective CTE program development, implementation, and school facing support aligned to the Chancellor’s vision. Coordinates support for administrators, CTE teachers, work based learning coordinators and assistants, counselors, advisors, community based organizations, and other contributing staff. Data Coordination, Monitoring, and Reporting Coordinates and supports the collection, organization, and monitoring of CTE program data to support required city, state, and federal reporting requirements (including Perkins V, CLNA, and CTE SAMs). Coordinates with Work Based Learning staff to support: WBL scope and sequence documentation Monitoring student participation and progress Data entry and accuracy in STARS CTE Program Manager and the STARS Postsecondary Tracker Progress toward required work based learning hours for concentrators Supports review and coordination of course sequences and student enrollment data. Coordinates data entry and updates in the Career Pathways Portal (CPP) and related systems as needed. Capacity Building and Continuous Improvement Coordinates technical assistance and professional learning opportunities that support high quality CTE program implementation. Supports schools and collaborates with internal Pathways workstreams and external partners to align curriculum, credentials, and employability skill development to labor market demand and high wage, in demand occupations. Coordinates CTE School Leader meetings, office hours, and professional development sessions in partnership with Pathways colleagues. Supports the coordination and submission of NYSED program amendments and addendums as needed. Participates in Program Approval and Quality team meetings, Pathways meetings, and cross office planning structures. Communication, Collaboration, and Stakeholder Coordination Coordinates communication and adheres to messaging norms, timelines, and expectations established by Pathways leadership to ensure consistent guidance to schools and partners. Collaborates across Pathways teams to align support, resources, and timelines for schools. Represents the CTE Program Approval and Quality team in meetings with internal NYCPS teams and external stakeholders as needed. Adopts a service oriented approach, coordinating support in response to school needs and contributing to the continuous improvement of systems and processes. Qualification Requirements Minimum A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or High school graduation or equivalent and six (6) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least one (1) year of experience as described in “1” above. Preferred Experience coordinating Career and Technical Education programs or related career connected initiatives. Knowledge of NYCPS and NYSED policy, compliance, and accountability structures. Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders, including schools, higher education, employers, and community partners. Strong organizational, data management, and project coordination skills. Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in fast paced, deadline driven environments. Salary $82,000 - $90,000 (Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.)
