Band Director

Intermediate School Band Director The Intermediate Band Director is responsible for directing and managing the band program at the Intermediate Buildings. This role includes planning, coordinating, and implementing a comprehensive band program that enhances students' musical knowledge and abilities. The intermediate band director should be preparing all band students to continue their musical endeavors at the Middle School and High School levels. Essential Functions and Responsibilities include conducting rehearsals and preparing students for performances, competitions, and assessments. Organize and conduct band performances, including concerts, Band Night, pep band events, and other school-related performances. Plan and oversee band trips. Identify and encourage students to pursue further musical opportunities, such as York Junior Symphony and other musical groups. Collaborate with school administration and other faculty members to support the overall educational mission of the school. Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and upcoming events. This position includes after-school rehearsals/performances. Performs other related duties as required by the Principal, Assistant Superintendent and/or Superintendent. Education and Experience: Other education/experience as accepted by the school board and administration.
