Controller

We’re hiring a Controller/Internal Accountant to run the day-to-day internal accounting function with an “own the job” mentality. This is a hands-on role for someone who closes the books cleanly, keeps revenue and subscription payments airtight, and operates with minimal hand-holding. Ideal for a proactive accountant who takes ownership and improves the function over time.

Responsibilities:

• Close the monthly books and ensure financials are accurate and on time
• Reconcile Stripe activity, including subscription payments and related deposits/fees
• Invoice clients using Stripe/subscription payment methods and maintain clean billing records
• Support onboarding new employees in Gusto (setup, coordination, and administrative follow-through)
• Assist with state filings and annual reports throughout the year
• Analyze revenue metrics, including performance by person and by Tax Director
• Contribute to additional financial analysis projects as the company scales

Qualifications:

• Prior experience owning the month-end close in a small to mid-sized environment
• Strong working knowledge of Stripe payments/subscriptions and reconciliation best practices
• Comfort operating independently and taking full ownership of the accounting function
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to catch issues before they become problems
• Solid Excel skills for analysis and reporting
• Clear, professional communication and reliable follow-through
