At CECO, you'll be part of a growing, dynamic team committed to a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future.The Purchasing Agent I is responsible for executing all aspects of purchasing to efficiently and cost-effectively support organizational operations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience generating all purchase orders for raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies. This individual will also be required to plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventories in support of production schedules and business demands.Key responsibilities include sourcing equipment, goods, fabrication and services along with vendor identification and management; reviewing purchase requisitions and conferring with suppliers to obtain product information such as price, availability and delivery schedule; receiving price quotes from vendors, compare quotes against requirements and the budget, and purchase orders; negotiating purchase orders and closing deals with optimal terms; verifying receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered. Resolve any shipment errors with suppliers; supporting the development and implementation of new purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification; entering purchase orders for OE, AM, and stock for multiple brands. Includes fabrication PO's along with buyout items; assisting in input and updating min/max data on stock/raw material; maintaining positive and cooperative communications with all stakeholders; updating pricing in database on commodities (under the direction of management); monitoring vendor schedules to maximize on-time deliveries to ensure that required schedules are being met; ensuring all procured items are delivered as per Purchase Order due dates, will proactive follow up; and other job duties as required.Qualifications include 7+ years' experience purchasing in a sub-contract, manufacturing, or project environment for Industrial Manufacturing or customs engineered products; associates degree in supply chain management or business administration preferred; strong knowledge of supply chain management required; familiarity with sourcing and vendor management; ability to gather and analyze data; Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis on excel; solid judgement, decision making skills and leadership capabilities; highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented; excellent analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects; and exceptional negotiation skills.Travel requirements include the ability to travel when necessary.Competencies include knowledge of customer and personal service, English language, negotiation, active listening, critical thinking, persuasion, speaking, technical ability to read P&ID's, General Assembly Blueprints, Component specification; abilities in oral comprehension, oral expression, speech clarity, written expression, written comprehension, deductive reasoning, fluency of ideas, problem sensitivity, and information ordering.ADA requirements include office positions.Work environment includes a professional office environment where this job operates routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods. The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job. Compliance with company attendance standards. Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
