Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Theater Mgr) Temp PT - 6825

Position: Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Theater Manager) Salary: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour (DOE) Work Schedule: Temp Part Time (Not to Exceed 1 Year) Location: Kodiak, AK Duties Overall management and direction of the 400‑seat movie theater on Base Kodiak. Plan and promote the theater, including scheduling and ordering movies, scheduling use for training and all‑hands events. Assist in negotiation of agreements with the Navy Motion Picture Service and prepare publicity releases. Responsibility for all equipment, maintenance, and corrective action. Supervise and train employees; plan work schedules; appraise performance; counsel personnel; recommend personnel actions. Prepare and submit annual operating budget requirements. Direct operations of a short‑order concession stand: order inventory via vendors, prepare items for retail sale, conduct monthly and spot inventories, reconcile daily sales receipts and make deposits. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Professional knowledge of movie theater operations acquired through formal education or a combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of theater equipment. Work experience supervising support staff. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications Three years’ experience demonstrating professional knowledge of movie theater operations, including retail, supervising support staff, and personnel procedures.
